"A Sneak Peak of the New Album by Caleb Murphy"

He agreed to do it, and the result is his latest album Thank God They’re Wrong." -Stephen Altrogge - The Blazing Center

"Oil Lamp Life" - single

In 2010, a film production company called Vinegar Hill asked him to write this song to be featured in a commercial for a Christian conference (called NEXT), attended by more than 2,000 people. The video went public in February 2010 and was showed at the conference. The single was released March 3, 2011.

"Thank God They're Wrong" - EP

In 2011, he released a five-song EP, Thank God They’re Wrong. Author and pastor Stephen Altrogge asked Caleb to write songs inspired by Altrogge’s book, The Greener Grass Conspiracy. Caleb compiled the EP and it was packaged with the pre-orders of the book as a free download. The EP went public April 11, 2011. Caleb had a concert to celebrate, and about 100 people attended.

"Four Sons" - full-length album

In 2012, he recorded his first full-length album, Four Sons, consisting of 11 original songs. He arranged, produced, performed and engineered the album by himself in his home studio, then sent it to John Behrens (engineer/producer) in Nashville, Tn., for it to be mixed and mastered.

Bio

Caleb's music can be described as rustic-acoustic-folk driven by carefully crafted lyrics. Sometimes simplicity is necessary to test a song’s strength, so Caleb approached his debut full-length album, Four Sons, with simple ideas and clean production, structuring the songs with vocals, guitar, piano and minimal percussion. He sought to challenge his own songwriting and let the songs stand on their own, and now the 11 songs stand as his most recent album.

He was able to raise over $1,500 for his 11-song album, Four Sons, using Kickstarter.com, where fans pledge money in exchange for merchandise and exclusive rewards. His other releases include a five-song EP (Thank God They're Wrong) based off of a book, and a single (Oil Lamp Life) written for and featured in a commercial.

He has had thousands of song streams, song and album downloads, and YouTube views, releasing and marketing his music completely by himself. He gets consistent radio airplay on WYEP-FM in Pittsburgh, Pa., WIUP-FM in Indiana, Pa., WFTE-FM in Scranton, Pa., and WCCS in Indiana, Pa. He has made radio appearances on WIUP and WCCS. He regularly plays shows regionally and has performed with artists Reilly, Owen Pye, Kindlewood and The Yellow Kites.

He and his wife reside in their hometown in Western Pennsylvania.
