Bio

Mike here. You want to know how the band got started and such... Steve and Scott started the first of many versions of California Medication. The first band was actually called California Medication, but didn't really get very far. It included Steve, Scott, and a good buddy, Dan. They played Pink Floyd covers and jammed to blues. Their biggest show was at the Plea For Peace Center in Sacramento and now we can't play there because we're using the same name now and Steve couldn't stop cussing on stage at a CHURCH RUN SHOW! (He forgot to mention that to me before I agreed on the name) After California Medication (the first), Steve and friends proceeded to change the band name to Lokal 1500. They went through a couple of changes adding members and material. This was a jam band mainly and really stayed local in Stockton. I guess they lived up to the name: Local band and about 1500 people in Stockton. Next, Steve had the bright idea of making his girlfriend a vocalist or started dating the vocalist, idk. That band was called Eleven In The Backyard. After she broke up with him, the band was soon to follow. Chris was next addition to the band. He brought the influence to play original rock music. "Fuck this, let's play something else" -Chris Loba. He also brought his sister along to do vocals. They were called Project 169 then. She left after some confrontation. Mike came into the band a year later which forms the band today. Revitalized, renewed, California Medication, (the second). He's the main songwriter and collaborates with everyone else in the band. Taking all styles from everyone's roots and mashing them together to make a unique sound. (It's weird talking about myself like this) The first EP was recorded in November of 2009. 10 months later, the band won Battle Of The Bands at the Fat Cat in Modesto, CA from the 209 Music Co-Op and was nominated for a Modesto Area Music Award. The new EP (Dead Naked Chicks) will be released shortly.
