Cal Jon

I got my 1st set of drums when I was eight, after watching my brothers band. The drummer was so fascinating too watch that I just had too get my own drum kit. I picked up on it very quickly. Soon after. I started playing my fathers acoustic guitar. It was then that I realized it was much easier to write a song with a guitar. I was hooked. After a few years. I convinced my parents too buy me my 1st electric guitar and amp, and started taking lessons. This is when I found my first real love... Eighties metal and hard rock! From Van Halen to Brian Adams. I wanted to learn it all. Of course. My parents would have been much happier hearing Chet Atkins blasting from my room. But I couldn't get enough rock and roll. Although my fathers violin playing and love for pure country would prove too be a huge influence on me as well.

In 1990 I attended PMC. The Professional Musicians college. Learning from this hugely talented staff was most integral to my music career. As it opened so many doors to different styles and techniques of playing and writing.

After graduating from PMC. I went on too play with many different artists and bands along the way. From Jazz to Zidago, Blues and Country. It was only after going back to playing with a rock band, that I discovered I had a voice. A unique voice. And I really started to focus on perfecting it. I started a band called "Screamer" which has been very successful localy. And remains one of my main bands that I still play with today. Soon... "Screamer" branched out from covering 70's - 90's rock, to "Paradise City". Later too be renamed "Mr. Brownstone". An extremely successful "Gun's and Roses" tribute band. Both of these acts had been my main focus for over 15 years.

In the fall of 2008. I decided I needed to have my own original music professionally recorded. I have taken 10 songs that I have written over the past 20 years, and finally recorded my first full length album. Simply called "Cal Jon, Brainwashed".
