Bio
Calli Dollinger was born in East Texas, the swampy industrial wasteland also responsible for the howls and hisses of the late Janis Joplin, and raised in Austin, Texas, the live music capitol of the world. A statuesque beauty, and an old souled, blue eyed sass, she's both soft and strong, described by Time Out Chicago as "the backroom ghost of a classic rock chanteuse."
After college, Calli moved to Chicago to pursue music and fully develop her sound. It was here that she met drummer, Tyler Kaschke, and engineering team, Casey Darnell (bass) and Tony Garcia (lead guitar), the duo responsible for Midwest recording company, Blife.
Ultimately, Calli Dollinger and The Dusters are a force of raw, gutsy folk rock, soldiering through songs as their sultry, matriarchal songstress wails in the wind. "I come to the guys with the structure and the melodies. They finish the house that I already started and then we blow it up."
Look for their EP, Loaded Gun, in May 2012, engineered by Grammy award winning producer, Stuart Sikes (who has worked with Loretta Lynn, Cat Power, Jack White, and Modest Mouse).
