"Calling All Stars"

Calling All Stars may be a new name on the Atlanta music circuit, but it wont't be long before the group's undeniable "we're here to stay" sound, perhaps best described as melodic, yet balls-to-the-wall-rock-your socks-off, grabs listeners with precedent-setting standards.
Each member of the five-person band had their own projects in 2005 when fate brought them together. Jamal Hafza, lead vocals, was already playing gigs locally in the Atlanta club scene when he hooked up with Cason Neill, guitar. Hafza and Neill got together to jam acoustically and wrote their first song, "Foreign." Jason Bonner (bass) and Mick Wade (drums) joined the mix and the creative juices flowed. Within six weeks a dozen more songs were written. They realized there was a missing piece to the puzzle and added Neill's brother, Steven Neill, on piano for a fuller sound.

With a lot of luck, they were able to get their demo into the hands of studio manager/ co-owner of Southern Tracks studio, Mike Clark. Southern Tracks has production credits with musical greats Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Stone Temple Pilots and more. Clark had faith that this band could be the "real thing" so he brought them in to lay down a few tracks but even he was amazed at the speed of production. CAS was able to finish its 10-track debut album "White Fields" in three days, a nearly unheard of feat in the music industry.

Calling All Stars is currently touring the Southeastern United States and can be heard regularly in Atlanta and Orlando. Tour Dates and merchandise can be found on their myspace site, www.myspace.com/callingallstars. To purchase "White Fields" log on to www.cdbaby.com or itunes.

Bio

Calling All Stars was formed with a chance meeting of Jamal Hafza (lead Vocals) and Cason Neill (lead Guitar) in fall of 2005. Both gentlemen were performing at a local Atlanta acoustic event and the conversation that was had, created the band. Shortly after the duo started, they recruited The General (Piano, Sax, Organ, and brother to Cason) with longtime friend Thomas Michael (touring percussionist) to build the wall of sound that they are known for today. With one long play album to their credit (White Fields) and another being pressed for release in April 2009, CAS is a sound that can be defined as “here to stay”.
