Three guys said "hey, we should make a band". Then another guy came along and the three guys were like "hey, wanna be in a band?" and the fourth guy was like "yeah man". They then saw another guy and the four guys were like "hey, wanna play in a band?" and the fifth guy said "yeah." Then the five guys played in a band.
"Calypso Toad?" I hear you say. Yes, Calypso Toad! And if you delve deep enough into the cosmos of your imagination, you'll find the name isn't so silly after all.
Calypso was an intriguing Greek goddess, who lived isolated on the island of Ogygia. There she detained the mortal hero Odysseus, whom she fancied just a little :3 She would sing to him, and seduce the mighty man with her enchanting voice.
And what does this "Toad" business mean? Well, if you can explore back to the prime days of school scripture chaos, you may recall the crazy story of the Egyptian series of plagues, the second of which was an infectious plague of frogs/toads.
Collectively, we are able to determine that the words "Calypso" and "Toad" mould together in such a way as to describe the certain effect on a person that our music wishes to achieve. Calypso Toad produces an infectious realm of sonic space, which a person is somehow trapped within, being seduced by the lo-fi frequencies and hypnotic grooviness of their cosmic sonic fudge.
This idea can be compressed to form the phrase:
"Calypso Toad. The supersonic plague."
