Bio

Experience high energy acoustic music as Camaron combines the old songs of Andalucia with the modern sounds of Flamenco to tell the story of southern Spain through his guitar.
Camaron’s extensive experience culminates in his original compositions that will take your breath away and make you marvel at his virtuosic performance.
By utilising his knowledge both cultural and musical in traditional flamenco, Camaron expands it further by incorporating his vast experience in all styles of music and a personal touch of Australian flavour. This results in a deeply melodic, rhythmic and original artistic sound.
Camaron has played guitar for more than 25 years
gathering broad experience in all styles leading him to specialise in Flamenco. In 2007 he lived in Spain,
immersed in the Andalusian atmosphere, performing and jamming with friends in Sevilla, Cordoba and Jerez. He was also based in Barcelona where he performed concerts to much acclaim. During 2004 he studied in Sevilla and Granada learning from teachers and from seeing shows in the Cuervas and Bars. He then moved to
England and performed private concerts at Henley on Thames. Additionally he was guest artist for the 'Total Guitar Sundays' series of lectures, workshops and concerts in Dublin, Ireland that May. Previous overseas experience has seen Cameron undertake contracts in Thailand, Christmas Island and Indonesia.
In the past Camaron has been involved in many concert performances such as: Northern Rivers
Jazz Festival (2006) and other concerts throughout the Northern Rivers region; Queensland
Music Festival (2005 & 2007) the latest show was „The Dream Catchers‟ devised and directed
by John Rodgers in conjunction with Paul Grabowsky; Queensland Arts Council “On Tour By
Request” (2006-2009); Concerts at "Hello Barcelona", Barcelona (2007); Valley Fiesta,
Powerhouse Theatre, Tivoli Theatre, King George Square, Stanthorpe Wine Fest, as well as many Corporate shows at Hilton and Sheraton Hotels Brisbane, Noosa and Gold Coast and Marriott Surfers Paradise.
The main Festivals in which Camaron has made an appearance at are: Woodford Folk Festival
as Solo Flamenco Guitarist and with “The Gypsy Swingers” (2007 & 2008); OzManouche Festival and the Mini Manouche Festival with “The Gypsy Swingers” (2007 & 2008); Bellingen Jazz Festival (2008 & 2009), Neurum Creek Folk Festival (2008).
In Melbourne Camaron performed at Australia’s leading Flamenco Venue “Kanela” (2008) and
"The Boite" as part of the World Music Cafe Series (2008) and in Sydney he performed at the Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, (2009) and at “The Basement” (2009).
Locally and recently, Camaron has performed in several World Music Cafes at QPAC as well as
numerous lunchtime concerts at the Brisbane City Hall, Main Auditorium & Queen Street Mall, Main Stage on behalf of Brisbane City Council, in conjunction with Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (2007 to 2009); numerous performances for and on behalf of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (2007, 2008 & 2009); Australia Day Concert, Suncorp Piazza on behalf of Queensland‟s Premier‟s Department (2009); Brisbane Guitar Show, Brisbane City Hall (2008 & 2009); Latino Passion Fiesta at the Gold Coast Arts Centre (2009);
He performs regularly at The Spanish Tapas Bar, Central Brunswick, Fortitude Valley; Belle Epoch @ Emporium Complex, Fortitude Valley and others.
