Bio

Cameo Nova has recently emerged as one of Atlanta’s finest five-piece bands. With their past three years of experience, the band has grown from their rookie type characterization to a much deserved seniority rank that has placed them as one of the best bands to come from Atlanta. As this local music scene grows, so does their fan base and praise for what can only be described as high-energy, hard-driving melodic music. The band has benefited from the growth of Atlanta, playing at fabulous venues and fronting for several amazing bands. Cameo Nova has shared events and stages with bands like State of Man, Beyond Tomorrow, Echovalve, Anchor, Lazyeye, Soundevice, Hybrid-L, and The Swear—all prominent titles they are grateful to be a part of.
The band’s music has also taken the fast track to success. They have been fortunate to receive air time on 99x, 96rock’s: stage 96, as well as the Regular Guys (mornings) and their afternoon request line. They have also earned April’s 2nd best band on 105.3 the Buzz next to Uncrowned, Echovalve, Dear Enemy, and Crazy Anglos. Cameo Nova’s quick release of their demo early 2005 received more love from the city then they could have ever imagined. It has also earned them stage spots at some of Atlanta/Athens hottest places like Smith’s Olde Bar, the Masquerade, Tasty World, Last Call, and 10 High. Cameo Nova may soon also be seen in the Florida arena, as well as traveling the West Coast and making festival appearances in Canada/BC.
Cameo Nova has watched each other grow not only as a band, but also as a close family. They miraculously started as strangers who came together by rumors of a new band and it’s been a beautiful union ever since. The newest addition of Charlie in late 2004 landed them with their prominent new sound, and reason to begin their first LP—which is scheduled for release Spring 2006 with producers Cheney Brannon and Shawn Grove. Cameo Nova from left to right: Charlie Shapiro (Lead Guitar), Chris Rawlins (Bass/Vox), Kevin Snyder (Vox), David Brimanson (Drums), and Adam Brimanson (Keys/Rhythm Guitar/Vox).
As the band looks to the future, they have great possibilities and promise of success. Their determination has landed them at the top in 2006. One remaining truth to their character is they have remained unmanaged and unsigned. Though they continuously seek for the best of both, their ability to work at a professional level is unquestionable. Cameo Nova is not only talented, but also disciplined. They truly are a unique cornerstone in the Atlanta music scene.
