Cameron Lumsey was born in the beautiful city of Indianapolis, Indiana, a.k.a. nap town in 1981. She was also raised there. Though she hails from the city of nap town, you must not sleep on this young ladys God given talents and abilities. The 24 year old was introduced to the wonderful world of music at a very early age and was surrounded by it courtesy of her parents. She developed a love for music when she was fairly young and began singing in different choirs and groups at church. Yes, Cameron was fortunate to be raised in the church, where she received her musical foundation and was honored to meet God . Cameron learned the art and seriousness of music growing up as she attended the professional rehearsals and studio sessions at a young age, of Lamar Campbell and Praise, a gospel group formed in the early 80s who signed to Tyscott records, which her mother was apart of. This group would often open for gospel legends like John P. Kee, Darryl Coley, and the Richard Smallwood singers. Cameron gradually became intrigued with music and decided to write music that came from her heart. She began singing and writing her first songs at the age of twelve. She also discovered that she could arrange, play the piano by ear, compose rap pieces, and dabble into production. She always loved to make her own songs full of originality and life. However, these songs were inspired by artists and influences such as Mariah Carey and Anita Baker, but mainly hip hop artists like Tribe Called Quest,Wu Tang Klan, Rakim, NAS, Queen Latifah, and several other artists from east coast. Great artists in their own respect, God's spirit spoke to this 24 year old in 1999, and told her to surrender her talents and influences completely to God. Now, she uses them for the cause of Christ. God's grace has given her the tenacity to penetrate lives through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Her songs, still full of the originality, plus the distinctness that God lends, are aimed to reach the masses. Her music tends to primarily focus on the love of God, the awesomeness of Christ, as she points to God as the solution to all of lifes challenges. You wont have to search for God when you hear her songs. She combines her personal life experiences, with those from others, and incorporates the word of God into each song in an appealing way. And since she made the decision to surrender her capabilities to God, she has been blessed to work with producer/musician Kelvin Wooten, (Sean Simmonds, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Mary J Blige, Raphael Sadiqq ), Tony Stone (KJ-52, Trip Lee, Viktory, K-Drama, Knine), vocal arranger and producer Erik Griggs(Montrell Darrett), Viktory (Tonex, Marvin Winans Jr.)),Trey Williams a.k.a. Andale (Beckah Shea, Mr. Del|), and many others.
