"Track review of an artist discovered through Altsounds.com"

Being neither a fan of the genre or the hip-hop lifestyle I find myself pleasantly surprised by Cameron Icon Giddings's Scream My Name.

The rhythm employed throughout the track is unusually captivating and is apt in his expression of the emotion of enthusiasm and personal pride. The track reveals a real talent for poetry; specifically the piece harnesses the musical rhythm to emphasize the meter of the poetry which itself very effectively evokes a human emotion with which any listener will immediately relate. This track is an effective and beautifully crafted work of popular art-- something rare in a genre normally typified by gimmicks, production tricks and cheap attention grabbing hooks.

Bio

Cameron Giddings was born in 1988 in the great city of Houston, Texas. Giddings’ early influences include many of the local Houston artists, along with many of the mainstream hip hop artists such as Nelly, Black Eyed Peas, and Akon. At the age of ten, Giddings began to perform around his hometown, performing at local talent shows. His first exposure to the music business consisted of recording demo tapes off a karaoke microphone in his parents computer room. At age 12, Cameron took his first plunge into the entertainment industry by auditioning for a reputable performing arts school in hopes of attaining the proper training and skills needed to excel in the world of music. Cameron completed the one year stint and walked away with soaring confidence, newly found skill, and creativity.

His first break came at the age of 14, when he entered a song writing contest for Wrigley‘s Winterfresh Gum. Within a few weeks he was awarded as the winner. Cameron then caught the attention of local talent agency Pastorini & Bosby. Through them Giddings landed several commercial roles for large companies including Hasbro Interactive, Vodafone, Academy Sports & Outdoors, and Whataburger, his largest commercial role to date playing the role of “The New Guy” .

Along with that success, Cameron has also appeared as a guest on CBS’ TV show “The Daily Buzz”, with Rance Adams, in Dallas, TX. Giddings also performed a set during the 2007 SXSW festival, opening for national rock group Faktion, and during the summer of 2008 Cameron performed at Houston nightclub HUSH, to a crowd over 1,000 screaming fans. One of his biggest mainstream performances to date was on the hit ABC Show “The Gordon Keith Show” where he performed his successful first single “Crazy Love”. All of this success has helped Cameron receive over 14,500 fans on his myspace page.

Cameron was not only growing credibility within the music community, but his hometown of Cypress, TX published a two page spread in the local and widely published “Cy-Fair Magazine” where he was praised for his accomplishments in the entertainment industry and was recognized as one of the outstanding members of his community.

Not only is Cameron a driven and talented singer but he is an incredibly skilled song-writer and producer. Since moving to Los Angeles in late 2007, Giddings has gone from your typical teenager to a devout and dedicated musician/ actor. Signing on with the Hollywood booking agency ‘Sean Healey’, Cameron has been able to perform at Hollywood hot spots such as The Key Club and The Knitting Factory to name a few.

Breaking the boundaries is what he stands for, and breaking down that wall between himself and success is what he lives for. Cameron is a remarkable individual that has a commanding presence just as strong off stage as he does on. He is ready to shine and has already traveled quite far on his road for greatness.
