An expert songsmith with a wicked sense of humor... sometimes Cameron's art form is so far ahead of it's time people are completely oblivious to it. His guitar playing was superb and his material continued to astound the crowd as it does each time he plays.

Biography

Cameron Hull hails from Memphis, TN and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. A solo artist, he sings with a voice marked by operatic training but also creates other worldly nuances to express a stark and orginal literary voice. His music evokes a strange longing for the ethereal imaginings of childhood, mixing adult themes like love and loss with a rambling, irregular musical pace that seems to fit the flitting attention spans of grade schoolers. In his guitar playing, the odd minor chord or a series of bluesy pluckings add a dash of unpredictability that separates Hull from other solo ventures.

Cameron has released two recordings of original material. The first, released in 2004, is self-titled. The second, “Music for Loons,” was released in 2006. Cameron has developed a loyal following of fans and recently completed his first national tour. Highlights from the tour include performances at SXSW in Austin, TX, Rotture in Portland, OR, Atlas Clothing in Seattle, WA, Oberlin College in Ohio, and Messiah College in Grantham Pennsylvania. Cameron has shared the stage with such acts as The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, Eric Gaffney/Jason Lowenstein, Jeffrey Lewis, Louque, Suckers, The Shivers, Castanets, Stars Like Fleas, Kyp Malone, Jana Hunter, Jaymay, The Dickel Brothers, Tigersaw, Viking Moses, Castanets, and many others.

Lyrics

False Spring

Written By: Cameron Hull

and like a false spring you bubbled up. thought i was fetching till you showed up. and the only way out of this is to sweat it out. and like a fools dawn you trembled up. thought i was dapper till you rose up. and the only way out of this is to sweat it out. and as the dew before the frost. i sought you at all the cost. now the only way out of this is to sweat it out.

Jesus Christ

Written By: Cameron Hull

she's a lobster in a tank, rubber bands on her claws. i envy her hopelessness, i envy her loss. she's a waitress working late, drinking diet coke. so she doesn't get fat, so she doesn't grow old. but she will never touch you and she'll never touch me. she'll never touch you and she'll never ever ever touch me.

she's a happy wife, laundry on the line. blackbird in the oven, ashes on the stoop. she's a hammer on the stone, so the pipes can get laid. so the shit can run and feed the plants under the sun. but she will never touch you and she'll never touch me. she'll never touch you and she'll never ever ever touch me.

I Have No Love

Written By: Cameron Hull

i like to play ball in the park. or paint the town red after dark. i like to break bread with my friends that they may feel full when night ends. but i have no love, no honeycomb. my books are closed, we've all gone home. a sweetness lost yields twice the gain for greedy bears immune to pain.

i often watch pelicans dive, white bellies red eaten alive. with straightest line, voracious path, may sticky hands congeal my wrath. i have no love, no honeycomb. my books are closed, we've all gone home. a sweetness lost yields twice the gain for greedy bears immune to pain.
