When Cam Lasley was born in 1982, doctors cautioned his parents that he would struggle physically. Today he runs 3 miles and benches 180.
Doctors predicted that he would be unable to talk.
He has released two Hip Hop album under the name LAZ D.
He has Down syndrome. He will be the first to tell you, he doesn’t think about it much. In fact, he hopes you won’t either. Give him a listen, and you will understand.
His new collection, the first under his name CAM LASLEY "AGAINST THESE WALLS", is the true story of one man following his dream and inspiring many others to see life in a different way.
CAM LASLEY has performed concerts in Portland, Los Angeles, Austin, New York and Hawaii.
His videos were featured in The Sprout Film Festival at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
He has performed at Down Syndrome Buddy Walks in Portland, Lake Oswego, Salem and Central Park, NYC.
His music and story is beginning to reach a wider audience with features on Fox Oregon News, a portrait in a newly released book, and receiving the Multnomah County "Citizen of the Year Award".
