Bio

“I’m searching for a way to connect…” Cam Martin is on a mission, a music ministry if you will, to reach people with his unique talents. Crafting his own style of confessional songwriting he effortlessly melds biblical imagery and parable with modern day waywardness. Cam is called to write songs that resonate with the human condition.

Music has always been there for Cam. “The radio was always playing in my house, my dad sang in the church choir, and one of my fondest memories was playing the air-guitar in the third grade talent show…me and my best friend, Steve Manuel (who Cam still writes and records with), pretended baseball bats were our guitars and we brought the house down!” He was hooked.

Nowadays he’s busy trying to hook people with his voice and message. On his debut album, Forgiveness, Cam walks us through songscapes that can be as lush as the Gardens of Babylon or as bone-dry as the Sinai desert. Compelling songs like Fight On Through, with its invitation to put on the armor of God and fight the temptation of this world and Went Out To Find a Man, with its call to be Christ-like and forgive in the face of harrowing wrongs.“I used to write about what I thought people wanted to hear, but when I let go and started writing about what was in my heart that was, oddly enough, when people started telling me that they really felt a kinship with the songs.”

With veteran producer Dave Nachodsky (Invisible Sound Studios), who has twisted knobs for Bonnie Raitt, Everything But The Girl, and Keb Mo’, Cam felt a kindred spirit. “We both knew the process can be difficult, but that it could be achieved if we committed ourselves.” This commitment to crafting a beautiful soul-searching album with candid emotional lyrics is what Cam hopes connects with his listeners. We happen to think he has found what he is searching for.
