Canailles started off in Parc Lafontaine in Montreal during summer 2009. At first six musicians from really different backgrounds would meet up there to improvise their own versions of bluegrass, country and blues standards. Their love story took a whole new level after a couple of months, and they started writing their own songs in French Quebecois joual, crafting a sound that would be all their own, a crazy mix of cajun, zydeco, country, blues, bluegrass, ragtime and rock garage. Canailles is now a group of 8 self-taught hyperactive musicians, who graduated from whisky nights. Dare To Care released their album "Manger du bois" in April 2012.
