Candace Brown & The Downtown

Most recently, Candace Brown opened for The Abrams on October 6th 2016 at Knoxville’s Tavern in Edmonton, AB. Knoxville’s Tavern decided to make a battle of the bands contest for the openers, where Candace Brown and her band The Downtown won the prize. Candace Brown and The Downtown are the first named band to be performing at “A Cause For Country” music fundraiser in 2017.

Candace Brown & The Downtown was selected to perform on the Window on the West Stage showcase for the 2016 Calgary Stampede in May. They were also awarded the 2016 Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies Conference showcase in February. They have performed at Yavis Prop Room Lounge in Drumheller, The Neighborhood Café stage at Edmonton’s K-Days, sang the national anthem at the Heritage Ranch Rodeo, Headlined for The Mercury Room’s Country Music Night, and taken part in performing for many charitable organizations such as Adamstock, and Light the Night Edmonton 2016.

                The Downtown themselves have played hundreds of shows at venues and festivals around Canada, supporting many different artists and acts in multiple genres. They have played with artists opening for George Canyon at the 2016 Party in the Park Whitecourt Woodlands, and at the 2016 Youth for Youth fundraiser, The needle Vinyl Tavern in Edmonton and more!
