BandCountryFolk

My music is a mix of country and folk. Original songs are written from the perspective of personal experiences as well as the perspective of other's life experiences.

Biography

I became acquainted with performing the way many musicians do, in church. I learned to play guitar back in 1980 something and the poetry I'd been writing since the age of twelve started to become songs. My best friend encouraged me to open up and start "belting" out those songs, so I did. Several years ago, a Capitol Records scout told me the same thing. I'd like to be a part of a band, but so far haven't found one in my local area looking for a female vocalist, so I do a lot of karaoke performances to keep in good musical tone.

Lyrics

Long Line of Users

Written By: Candy Anderson

verse 1: I hear your sweet words, your promises.
You vow you won't hurt me; you're not like all the rest.
I've been down this bumpy road before,
so before you start promisin' anything more....I gotta tell you

Chorus: I come from a long line of users,
men who come and take the best, walk off and leave the rest.
I come from a long line of users. You're just standing at the end of the line.

verse 2: You say I need to trust you, trust my heart;
Let down my walls, let the feelings start.
I've heard those same words a thousand times.
Many men before you used those same lines.... But listen to me.

Chorus: I come from a long line of users, men who come and take the best,
walk off and leave the rest.
I come from a long line of users. You're just standing at the end of the line.
Repeat chorus:
Add line: And baby you're just wastin' my time.

Sands of Time

Written By: Candy Anderson

(verse 1)
You know, I’m so far from home; I’ve left the ones I love behind.
I’ve left the wooded hills and the fertile fields, now vivid memories in my mind.
Well, I wrap your love around me every morning as I rise
And I know your prayers will carry me through these burning sands of time.

(Chorus)
Sands of time, I pray that they pass quickly
And somehow I find my way back home.
Sands of time, ever changing, always shifting.
I watch those sands sift slowly as I sit here all alone.

(verse 2)
I couldn’t sleep last night; thoughts of home ran through my mind.
But I’m doing what I promised I would do
For my country and my family and the ones I hold dear,
For love and pride and honor, I’ll travel through……………those

(Chorus)
Sands of time, I pray that they pass quickly
And somehow I find my way back home.
Sands of time, ever changing, always shifting.
I watch those sands sift slowly as I sit here all alone.

(verse 3)
The pictures of the family came with your letters yesterday.
You don’t know how much it helps to keep the loneliness away.
I’ve made some real good friends here; you know I trust them with my life.
It’s like we’re all one big family, waiting on those sands of time.

(Chorus)
Sands of time, I pray that they pass quickly
And somehow I find my way back home.
Sands of time, ever changing, always shifting.
I watch those sands sift slowly as I sit here all alone.

(verse 4)
I’m coming home soon; can’t wait to be with you again,
Share a home cooked meal, be with family and with friends.
So keep those letters coming and if you’ve got a mind
To ask the good Lord to watch over me and see me through these sands of time.

(Chorus)
Sands of time, I pray that they pass quickly
And somehow I find my way back home.
Sands of time, ever changing, always shifting.
I watch those sands sift slowly, I watch those sands sift slowly, I watch those sands sift slowly......

I’m coming home.
