Bio

Cane brings the hip hop world a breath of fresh air with conceptual, lyrical, yet catchy music that is relatable to a wide range of listeners.
Cane developed an open mind and diverse interest in music at a young age. He wrote his first raps around the age of 13, and continued to create music throughout high school.  Cane attended the prestigous Virginia Military Institute where he received a scholarship to play football.   During his time at VMI, Cane began to take music more seriously and decided to pursue music as a career. He began doing performances and selling his cd's at school.  Cane graduated in May of 2009, and immediately began the recording for his first official mixtape "Cane is the Name". Cane released the mixtape that year, and continued to do performances in the DMV area.  Cane started off  2010 performing at Miss America's Birthday Ball, and releasing his second mixtape entitled 2nd Wind.  Cane also began to release music videos, which would increase his internet following.  In 2011 Cane linked up with producer/DJ/engineer Lou Burna to create his first, full-length, official album My Universe.  Shortly after the release, Cane was invited to open up for the Cool Kids at Shenandoah University.  Cane also was a finalist in the FLO 106.5 the Beat contest, and opened up for artists such as Ray-J, Mario, Olivia, Estelle, and Ace Hood at the Richmond radio station's "Beat Block Party".  Cane also received radio play for his single "I Do Work ".  In late 2011 Cane created his 4th project Appetizer for Destruction  to give fans a preview of his sophomore album "Destruction", produced by Lou Burna.  Cane dropped Destruction, which was sponsored by KevinNottingham.com on 5/20/12. Cane held a listening party for the release at DMV's own sneaker store Sports Zone. Cane continues to release new music, and perform along the east coast, in his pursuit to enlighten the world, and to let it be known that Cane is the name.
