CANNED HAMM are two ‘entainers’ who's mandate is to bring good times, fun and laughter, with just a sprinkle of life’s harsh realities to all the peoples of the world.
Big Hamm (Stephen Hamm, Copyright, Slow, Tankhog and Jungle) and Lil’ Hamm (Robert Dayton, July Fourth Toilet and Point Gray) burst onto the Vancouver scene three years ago with their outrageous show a mix of vaudeville, karaoke and burlesque. Heavy on audience participation, humor and catchy pop melody, the two Hamm’s will sing their way into your hearts and the backing band never misses a beat because all the music is on tape thus the ‘CANNED’ in CANNED HAMM!
The first self produced music video from CANNED HAMM for the song ‘FATHER & SON’ has become a bona fide hit on Musique Plus ‘ number one rated show, ‘DOLLAR A CLIP’ becoming the second most requested video by viewers. ‘FATHER & SON’ has also received airplay on Much Music where CANNED HAMM’S debut C.D., KARAZMA was voted favorite album of 2002 by V.J. Nardwuar the Human Serviette. “FATHER & SON” has also been aired on the music video shows FLY T.V. and RAGE on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation down under.
CANNED HAMM have been hand picked to tour the U.S. and Canada and most recently Australia with America’s funny man Neil Hamburger and have also toured with Chicago’s sensational Bobby Conn.
Their debut disc KARAZMA, available in North America on Pro-Am Entainment International and in Australia on V8 Records ,was given five stars by Chart Magazine. KARAZMA is both the soundtrack to the live CANNED HAMM show and a collection of everyone’s favourite CANNED HAMM songs. Be it the Scott Walker inspired ‘Karaoke Lady’, a Beach Boys inspired version of ‘Shortenin’ Bread’, or the deep funk stylings of the title track, KARAZMA will have you tapping your toes and singing along.
