Cant Pretend

Cant Pretend

BandR&BAcoustic

Cant Pretend fuses soulful hook-laden melodies, tight three-part harmonies, and the rootsy rhythm of acoustic guitar and oversized djembe. They appreciate the power of a well written song and come together to create a unique blend of acoustic soul, rock, and R&B.

Biography

In late 2004 Angel Sanchez & Dietrich Strause began writing songs together. Coming from diverse musical backgrounds (from salsa to sonatas), Angel and Dietrich heard a unique blend of soul, R&B, acoustic rock, and jazz in what they were writing. They soon encouraged Alex Arias to join the group, contributing his pure falsetto, impeccable sense of harmony, and versatility of range. In combination with Eric Deatrick's drumming, Dietrich Strause's guitar playing includes tasty finger-picked licks, locked into carefully crafted rhythms. With vocals capable of keeping the bar crowds captive, Cant Pretend has been entertaining clubs & bars in their hometown of Lancaster, PA since their beginning.
