Cape Town Lullaby formed in the place that so many bands do - at high school. Andrew and Peter started things off back in 2000 and collected band members over the years (while changing their name a few times) to eventually settle on a solid five piece line-up.
The band play a somewhat subtle version of indie-rock, but they use a full bodied sound to do it. Songs are driven by catchy guitar riffs and solid bass lines, with trumpet lines adding power and complexity. With influences like Arcade Fire, Pink Floyd and The Flaming Lips, the music is a constant blend of pop hooks with thoughtful lyrics, so the songs have instant appeal but can also stand the test of time.
The band has played various venues around Perth over the years (Ya Ya's, Rosemount, Mojos, Manhattans, Railway, Swan, Hyde Park) and they will be releasing their debut EP in early 2012.
