Bio

Capitol, a Dominican-American native from Atlanta, GA was born on March 20, 1985. His father instilled in him the values of being a strong Dominican man in America. However the greatest gift his father gave him was an early love for music. Growing up in da A' he spent countless hours watching his father, the first Spanish disc jockey in Atlanta spin vinyl in the living room of their home. To his dismay Capitol is surprised that his life experiences have led him to music. He always in-visioned himself to be a baseball player, playing in San Pedro Macoris, Dominican Republic. But like the boy who cried wolf he could not pretend to be a baseball player anymore and the wolf that capitol is came to be. The road to the top has not been clad in gold but instead had been laden with adversity. To be a Reggaeton artist in Atlanta can be an accomplishment on its own, but has been an everlasting struggle. His music however isn't of the typical Reggaeton artist, with tracks like "So Sick" that sounds like a freakish love child of Reggaeton meets grunge rock. Capitol credits influences like Jay-Z, Outkast and Tego Calderon for helping him form his diverse delivery and swagger. Opening for veteran artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Pit bull has Capitol gathering a following around the world. The original style of English and Spanish lyrics immersed in the 808 drum beats is hard to stomach by your regular Reggaeton listeners. But Capitol understands and acknowledges this fact stating that "he has to be patient because its hard to be humble when you are ahead of your time."
