First LP of the band "Cappello a Cilindro", "Poeticherie", was recorded in 2004 fall. After the release of the first album, the band had a wonderful season of successful live shows across Italy. Cappello a Cilindro performed live in Italy over 200 times, playing in very important events as SanremOff 2005, M.E.I. (Italian Independent Recording Labels Festival) 2005, M.E.I. 2006.
In 2005 the band won first edition of "Primo Maggio Tutto l'Anno Contest”, with more than 800 band participants gaining the chance of performing for the first time on the great stage of Piazza S.Giovanni in Rome, for Primo Maggio 2005 (www.primomaggio.com), one of the most important and prestigious live events in Italy
Many webzines and newspapers talked about Cappello a Cilindro music in these years: La Repubblica, Corriere Della Sera, Kataweb, Tg1, Tg3, Ansa, M&D, La Stampa,Radio Capital, Viva Radio Due,Rai International, Il Manifesto, Il Messaggero, Jam, Raro, Rockit, Mescalina, Musicalnews, Musicboom, and many others.
"Per non rallentare", second Cappello a Cilindro album, was released on 8th of May, 2006, and is distributed by Edel. "Per non rallentare" represents a real artistic evolution for the band. First single of the new album, "Il Modo più geniale", was released in May 2006, and its videoclip is broadcasted on many tv channels, like All Music, and is available in streaming on many web sites. "Il Modo più geniale" video was the second video by Cappello a Cilindro, following the last "Poeticherie" single video released, "Sedia di Paglia".
On the 1st of May 2006, Cappello a Cilindro performed again on Piazza S.Giovanni stage. That live act previewed "Per non Rallentare Tour”, which began in 2006 summer with about 30 shows in 3 months. Performance in "Festa dell'Unità Nazionale" in Pesaro closed tour summer session. Live clubs tour began in October, 2006.
Cappello a Cilindro won “Italia Wave Band Contest” in March, 2007 , and performed live on main stage of Italia Wave Love Festival (www.arezzowave.com) in July, another very important live event in Italy. To a year of distance from the acces of the second album, in April, the band is back in the studio and selected Officine Meccaniche, Mauro Pagani’s studio in Milan, to implement the new single, "Quel che accade", which, from last summer, is anticipating the next album, scheduled for 2008. Thanks to the new single and its videoclip, the band is positioned to second place in Indie music like Chart in the months of July and September. Always in September, the band went to Berlin, where was guest (one of the only two Italian band in the cast, among approximately 400 present) of PopKomm 2007 (www.popkomm.de), one of the most prestigious music meeting of the Old Continent.
Last live show, before a very numerous audience, on the stage of “Circolo degli Artisti” in Rome, has set the conclusion of a very long tour that began in 2006.
Stored for the moment the live performances, (the new tour will be launched in January with the prestigious participation to Eurosonic 2008 (www.eurosonic.nl), in Groningen, Netherlands, the band is already at work for the preparation of the third album, which is expected for the spring of 2008.
