"Cappolla King To Release "Poems and Politics" In Three BitTorrent Album Packages"

Following up from her last album "Triiippiilah", Cappolla King is about to travel down a road where very few have gone, and more soon to come...

BitTorrent Inc. is an Internet technology company based in San Francisco, and has opened up a platform for musicians (Major or Independent), to share and interact with their fans to give more than just a "free mixtape" or "single". It offers the artist to sell or for free download a "bundle" of their own music. This can include an album, singles, and or music videos, all in the click of a button. Once again, we can definitely expect the music industry big wigs to start scratching their heads and going back to the drawing boards when this takes off.

Not to mention Thom Yorke achieving over 1 MILLION downloads in less than one week, at only $6 per download... The math is very simple here, on how much any given artist's potential can be to make big returns on their projects.

Poems And Politics will be offered as a download in three separate albums for free by King, with Volume 1, releasing in mid-October. The album, which is more aggressive and expressive (respectfully) than before, with a more focused and themed message throughout. King has featured spoken word poems of Angela Davis, Maya Angelou, and Ms. Lauryn Hill to name few on the album.

Check out her videos for her latest singles off PXP: VOLUME ONE , "Ain't No Love" and "Wild World".

"New York Rapper Cappolla King Raises and Sets the Bar for Female MCs for 2014"

If you're expecting a bikini, red bottom heels, dramatic make-up, or lick-a-ble sledge hammers, this artist isn't for you. Long Island native, Cappolla King isn't your "typical" female rapper, or artist for that matter. Her music doesn't satisfy the appetites of the carnivorous men (and women) in most of today's popular hip hop crowd, but more-so appeals to the ear drums of a more natural and true hip hop connoisseur.

Cappolla King has a story similar to most kids born in the 80s, growing up in a single parent homes, and rejecting school. Although most artists that end up rapping about it, most of them, especially women, don't ever travel down the same road as she has, or even able to survive what she's had to endure. Her professional career starts in 2006 at Bad Boy's Daddy's House Recording Studio in Times square, where both Biggie and Danity Kane shared the same space (at different times of course), where she started her tenure as Assistant Engineer. After assisting in the recording (and feature) on Jay Z's multiplatinum American Gangster album, as well as Diddy's Press Play, she went on to be mentored by GRAMMY Award winning singer/songwriter Angela Hunte.

Cappolla and King, surname of her grandmothers, pay homage to her Italian and Irish heritage, crowning herself properly as King in her own right. Her third and latest mixtape TRIIIPPIILAH, takes claim to all she has been through, and truly sets her apart from her distinct female counter parts. The album was self recorded, produced and written, plagued with trippy sounds, 808s, soft harmonies, and realistic story telling. Cappolla masters the art of story telling, and her obvious influences of Outkast, Gwen Stefani, and Missy Elliot. Quotes such as "giving back to a culture that gave me so much/ not just taking from it" gives us hope that she's not just a gimmick, like many of her predecessors.

If this is a start of what else is to be released from Cappolla King, in 2014 we may finally have a respectable female artist that's not a gimmick or minstrel show.

Triiippiilah (2013)

Poems and Politics Volume 1, 2, & 3 (2014)

Native of Long Island, and graduate of IAR (Institute of Audio Research), CappollaKing started out as an audio engineer intern for Diddy's infamous Daddy House Recording Studio. Her four-year stint earned her assistant engineer credits on Jay Z's multi-platinum, "American Gangsta" album in 2008. Meanwhile she has worked under some of the most successful producers/songwriters in the industry including, Diddy, Danja, Mario Winans, and song-writer Angela Hunte.

CappollaKing is no ordinary female emcee. Her genre-blending, eclectic fusion of hip-hop and soul sets her far apart from her counterparts. Pulling from inspirations such as Andre 3000, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Missy Elliot are all apart of who she is. In 2010 she started her own collective (Art Moves Collective) which hosts her music production, video content, and art. CappollaKing produces, writes and records her own original material in New York City studio and never looks for handouts. She took the independant role on her own to build her empire and not include herself amongst the company of other female, more-so white, rappers.
