Bio
Capt James Nelson has been writing and producing music for almost 30 years. A local favorite of the San Diego Area, he has had songs published for TV, Film and Radio Ads. Either as a solo artist, or banded with some of the area's best blues, jazz, and rock musicians, you are sure to get a great show out of this seasoned veteran. James' original music spans all genres, and the Studebaker band has recreated a beloved sound of original roots rock and roll. There is some Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, and tons of good ol' honesty within this original music.
As a solo act, Capt James Nelson has soft, retrospective numbers in the likeness of Dylan, Cash, and Bowie, that all can relate to. As the rock band James Nelson and the Studebakers, the music has an inherent familiarity that sits great with mature audiences, gets folks to boogie, and lends itself to every other fun loving demographic. Either way, you can't go wrong with James Nelson live... as good music should be.
