"Captain Capa arrives at Warped Tour and delivers an awesome set at the Beatport Stage"

Yesterday, we covered day 1 of our 2 day Vans Warped Tour Coverage and stay tuned for some awesome photos and set reviews. Our first one we wanted to highlight for you was a great electronic music set by Captain Capa. Captain Capa came all the way from Germany to return and perform at this year’s Warped Tour. With a bit of visa and travel delays, yesterday ended up being the first day on Warped Tour and we were glad to catch their set.

They were the final set of the night on the Beatport stage but that didn’t stop these two from giving a 110% of their energy into their dynamic EDM music that will have you dancing and moving in no time. Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann were there to entertain and they did a stellar job at it. Their music brings in elements of rock and punk into their songs as well as pop.

These two guys on the stage captured everyone’s attention as they were heading out and people couldn’t help but check them out and dance a little on their way. After a long day of bands performing, they were still able to revive the pep and energy in the crowd as they initially, listlessly walked by. Check out some photos of their set by Rockin Ryan:
If you are planning on heading out to Warped Tour this summer, I would urge you to take a look at the set times for the Beatport stage and make sure to not miss Captain Capa. We are returning this Thursday to cover the Wheatland, CA June 26th date of the tour and will be bringing you an interview with these two young talented musicians. - Musicjunkiepress

"Music Group Captain Capa to join Vans Warped Tour 2014"

A little bit disco, a little bit emo, and all DIY electronic pop – Captain Capa comes straight out of Germany ready to jolt the Warped tour faithful with their electrifying sound. Headed by the joint forces of Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann, Captain Capa takes away from the best of modern-day club music and the early 2000s alternative emo era to create an eclectic blend of energetic electronic pop music that will make listeners feel like they’re reminiscing on the dance floor at this year’s Warped tour. (Local Angelenos, check out the June California dates below!)

Captain Capa is the sum of Hannes Naumann as the singer, writer, producer and keys and Maik Biermann on guitar, vocoder, and keys. Falling somewhere between Crystal Castle’s gritty electronic noise and Breathe Carolina’s polished pop production, Captain Capa creates a genre-bending electronic pop sound all their own. Also being heavily influenced by bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday, Captain Capa live is equal parts garage punk concert and electronic pop show. -

"Backstage Pass: An Interview with the German Synth-pop Duo Captain Capa"

The guys in the German synth-pop duo Captain Capa came through town yesterday on the Warped Tour. Although their style of music doesn’t entirely mesh with the punk and hardcore that dominates the Warped line-up, they played on a stage devoted to electronic music so they were paired with like-minded acts. We spoke briefly with them backstage before their set.

Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann have known each other for a very long time, battling through the adventures of Thuringian forest-provinces, before they magically became Captain Capa. Born in beautiful smalltown Bad Frankenhausen, they grew up between videogame and garagepunk, before entering the world of electronic music, discovering a love for big melodies on flashy beats.
As they decide to rob their piggybanks to gain the power of sequencers and synthesizers, to create a stunning EP of sci-fi-tech and emo-pop, they both knew, that neither big city lights nor a bright skyline would be necessary to create electronic popmusic.
"These Fights Are Never Over" is released on small-scale DIY Label "Cobretti Records" and acclaimed as an insider's tip of german, independent dance music. In May 2009 it's time for their first longplayer. Mixed, cleaned up and made dirty again by Norman Kolodziej, master of electro-bam of bands Der Tante Renate and Bratze, "Tonight Is The Constant" is acclaimed as catchy highspeed-pop by critics and indie-kids. The album lights a spark with ingredients of nurave, emotional electro-escapades and a glimmering voice, unable to decide if it's from a US emocore band of the early 2000s or abductet from some brit-pop-hero.
