Captain Capa

Yesterday, we covered day 1 of our 2 day Vans Warped Tour Coverage and stay tuned for some awesome photos and set reviews. Our first one we wanted to highlight for you was a great electronic music set by Captain Capa. Captain Capa came all the way from Germany to return and perform at this year’s Warped Tour. With a bit of visa and travel delays, yesterday ended up being the first day on Warped Tour and we were glad to catch their set.

They were the final set of the night on the Beatport stage but that didn’t stop these two from giving a 110% of their energy into their dynamic EDM music that will have you dancing and moving in no time. Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann were there to entertain and they did a stellar job at it. Their music brings in elements of rock and punk into their songs as well as pop.




These two guys on the stage captured everyone’s attention as they were heading out and people couldn’t help but check them out and dance a little on their way. After a long day of bands performing, they were still able to revive the pep and energy in the crowd as they initially, listlessly walked by. Check out some photos of their set by Rockin Ryan:

Captain Capa is the sum of Hannes Naumann as the singer, writer, producer and keys and Maik Biermann on guitar, vocoder, and keys. Falling somewhere between Crystal Castle’s gritty electronic noise and Breathe Carolina’s polished pop production, Captain Capa creates a genre-bending electronic pop sound all their own. Also being heavily influenced by bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday, Captain Capa live is equal parts garage punk concert and electronic pop show. -

The guys in the German synth-pop duo Captain Capa came through town yesterday on the Warped Tour. Although their style of music doesn’t entirely mesh with the punk and hardcore that dominates the Warped line-up, they played on a stage devoted to electronic music so they were paired with like-minded acts. We spoke briefly with them backstage before their set.
