Captain Ludd was founded in Zurich in 2008 by musicians from the USA, Sweden, England and Switzerland. The band began as an alt-country/Americana project that promoted the use of handcrafted instruments, back-to-basics living, making soup, and the creation of independent art and music. After recording "Diesel Fried Chicken," a 17-song demo, Captain Ludd quickly evolved into string band that merged its country and rock influences with its own uniquely orchestral blend of minimalism, jazz and psychedelia
