Captured by Gypsies

Captured by Gypsies started out as two brothers and a friend, all of whom were from different musical backgrounds. Mike Maule (guitar) who was really into metal, Josh Bell (bass) who was in an indie/hardcore rock project, and Corey Bell (drums) who was in a melodic hardcore screamo project, decided it would be a good idea to start jamming together and learn some new styles of music. A couple of years and a few music lessons later they started a kind of joke "party" band which they named Spackle Attack. A few more years passed and they started getting all of these compliments at these "parties" they were playing, and decided then to get serious...but what would they call themselves?...After a long drunken night in up state New York at a friend's (Tim Mayne's) house a party goer was almost captured and tortured by gypsies at a near by gypsy camp. Corey, and Mike saved her from peril, and named their band Captured by Gypsies. Josh didn't like it very much because he said it sounded too much like a band that already existed, but Corey and Mike insisted and Josh eventually grew to like it.
