Ich bin wieder zurück mit meiner kleinen Rubrik: YOU LIKE IT, WE WRITE IT. Was das ist? Die Facebookgruppe wird in das Blog-Geschehen integriert. Hä, wie?
Ganz einfach: Jede Woche schafft es der Post mit den meisten Likes in den Blog und dazu liefern wir euch ein paar Infos zum jeweiligen Künstler.

Diese Woche mit Caramelbrown und ihrem Kendrick Lamar Cover Swimming Pools.

Das Lied wurde schon des öfteren gecovert und einige Versionen sind richtig gut. Caramelbrowns Variante gliedert sich da nahtlos in diese Reihe ein.

Die Damen beginnen minimalistisch; nur Juline Michels Keyboard und die warme Soul Stimme von Cynthia Othieno. Eine Minute purer Genuss und als die Drums einsetzen, ziehen sich die eigentlich nachdenklichen Lyrics ins Nirwana. Ich kann es nur so beschreiben -> Shieet!

Das Cover ist auch ein kleiner Vorbote für ihre neue EP #Throwback. Drei wunderbare Songs die man sich zum relaxen und einfach zum geniessen anhören muss.

Ach und wer sind CaramelBrown? Die Namen der Ladies kennt ihr schon. Die zwei Freundinnen stammen aus Genf und sind das einfache Produkt einer künstlerischen Kollaboration welche 2007 als Vorbereitung für ein Gymnasiumskonzert zu stande kam.
Es entwickelte sich ein alternativer Soul, welcher von Hip-Hop und Soul Musik inspiriert, wie aber auch von elektronischen und latinischen Rythmen beinflusst wurde.

Hört euch doch ihre erste EP Esquisse an, ein elektro-akustisches Album welches einige Perlen beinhaltet.
