Bio

The electrifying and melodic sound of Carbol Fusion began in January of 2007 in Los Angeles, California with Alain Fig. His passion for the arts began at an early age and ever since he has been inspired to create and compose music. Alain nurtured his musical creativity and songwriting talents with the help of his friends and family who supported his musical aspirations. He is the original creator and composer of Carbol Fusion, and is the band’s lead vocalist, guitarist, and bassist. Gaining experience and acknowledging music through multicultural eyes, Alain has remained true to his passion for the art of music. The original vision of Carbol Fusion was the idea of inviting guest musicians, allowing each person to experiment and incorporate their individuality in the creation of the music. Carbol Fusion released its first L.P. entitled, "The Orbital Revolution" in 2008. One of the L.P.'s tracks "There You Were" was featured in an independent film in 2009. He then ceased using guests, and began searching for musicians who would be a part of a solid band line up. The band's music would speak loudly and clearly about political, social, and interpersonal issues which are faced in modern society on a daily basis. In 2010, the first member to join the band was Edgar Dela Torre. Edgar had relocated in California from the Philippines in 2008, selling his music equipment for a plane ticket to journey to the United States. When arriving in California, he worked to purchase new equipment and continued his passion for music. After meeting Alain, they found themselves with a new unique sound and style of rock music. With their signature sounds, they created their first collaboration; a four-track E.P. titled "INDESTRUCTIBLE." With Alain on lead vocals and guitar, and Edgar on lead and back-up guitar, their signature sound gave the band a refreshing 90’s alternative rock feel with a modern twist. The song "Kid Robot" went into music video production in 2010. With the release of the track, they began to search for a bass player and drummer to complete the group. In early 2011, the band released their E.P. "Reveal Yourself," with the hit songs "Control," "The Hard Way," and "Destruction." They played shows once again, with guest performers for a few months after to fill in. Soon, they came across a talented keyboard player named Joseph Fuentes. Joseph is from Los Angeles and has been playing piano/keyboard and singing for 15 years. He is classically trained, and his musical influences range from classical, early modern rock, and jazz. He has performed in many a wide variety of repertoire and musical styles in local venues, lounges, major music events at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and the El Rey Theater. With his previous experience, Joseph fit the bill with Carbol Fusion's unique sound to become the band’s classically trained pianist/keyboardist and backing vocalist. Shortly after Joseph was introduced to the band, he was able to recruit his cousin Paul Fuentes into the band. Paul had been involved with playing music since a young age. At 14 years old, he began playing drums and guitar as a secondary instrument, drawing his main influences from various alternative rock groups. He has played for various ensembles at Cal Poly Pomona such as the Percussion Ensemble, Songwriter’s Showcase, and MIDI Band. With their newly completed group, Carbol Fusion immediately began writing, composing, and producing all new songs. By bringing together all of the musicians’ musical styles and creative ideas, they came up with Carbol Fusion's original sound, for music that is no doubt one of a kind. They've been considered by their awesome fans to be, "A rock genre that has evolved," "A powerful, hard hitting, and full of energy sound," "A new twist of alternative rock." They have gained significant experience with public music venues since then, and have performed in many prestigious clubs in Los Angeles. Carbol Fusion has been working on all new material, a
