Caren Jax

   Singer-songwriter pianist and emerging composer Caren Jackson has always had an infinity for music.  Not afraid of the stage at a young age, she was enrolled into Royal Conservatory of Toronto.  After high school, she continued her musical education attending University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  At UNC-Greensboro she majored in Music Performance and Composition which included rigorous regimen of classical music, sight reading and theory.  During this time she was the composer and co-director of the Sapphires a women’s acapella group, consisting of 25 women.  Also, in this time she performed many solo performances’ for the student body, including the UNC-Greensboro talent show.  Two years later Caren continued her music studies at York University, with a concentration in jazz music and theory.  Since then she has worked as a performer and a freelance piano and vocal teacher.
