Bio
I have been writing songs since i was about 15 years old, first I started with poems and they turned into songs. My music is a mix of Rock, Southern Rock and Americana with a hint of country. I think it's unique yet mainstream in the ability to play across many different genres. My influences range from Bob Dylan, Elton John and the Killers to the Drive By Truckers. We just published our first EP, Carey Haynes, with songs like "Better Than You" and "Oh, Elaine" - I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and went to school for music. I loved music theory and that's where I started playing piano a lot. There's a lot of piano and harmonica in the songs and the lyrics are all from personal experience in my life; girl friends, breakups, love-hate, my family, etc. That's why I think my music is so honest, it's from my heart.
