"Carfax Abbey"

After years of tearing up the local Philly scene, Carfax Abbey has finally
released their debut album, Second Skin. Sure the band has put out
sampler discs of miscellaneous tracks in the past, but this album is not
only the real deal- but a must have for any collection.

Second Skin is the perfect marriage of live instrumentation carefully
layered on top of sequences and loops. Creepy intro's, subtle whispers,
strategic keyboards and danceable hooks saturate this album to the point
where twelve tracks isn't nearly enough to satisfy the pallet of any music
enthusiast.

The album doesn't waste any time with filler and gives you a solid,
potent starter track with "The Healing". Vocalist Gary Billings, by far
one of Philly's most outrageous and intriguing frontman, thrusts his
talents as not only a passionate singer but as an aggressive man of
anger from the get-go on this track. His over-the-top delivery allows
listeners to feel almost violated- and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Making an appearance on the album is a remake the band has been
performing live for quite sometime and quickly became a fan-favorite -
“Cry Little Sister”, from the Lost Boys soundtrack. Also the long-time
Carfax standards "Spitshine", "Love Hate Kind" and "Ketamine"
reintroduce themselves on Second Skin.

What brings this album to a whole new level is how it lends itself
to not only rock and goth/industrial fans, but to the club scene as well.
Selections from the album have already been re-mixed and sampled in clubs
across the country. - Anthony Caroto Origivation Magazine

listen to the words and it'll scare the pants off of you!
Blending hateful chords, powerful electronic effects and dark lyrics,
Carfax Abbey is my favorite Gothic local band to date." - Tom Scott Acrimony Magazine

Bio

Carfax Abbey has the distinction of being the first and only Philadelphia band to be signed to Philly-based Dancing Ferret Discs. The band's blend of hard rock and driving industrial programming had received favorable comparisons to Stabbing Westward and Nine Inch Nails, but it was Carfax Abbey's raw, cathartic live shows that ultimately won them a record deal. Their lyrics and music are heavily influenced by horror: not only horror cinema, but also the real horror of modern life and its all-too-common moments of betrayal, despair, addiction and heartbreak.

"It Screams Disease" is the band's first commercially distributed album, following several successful self-releases which are now highly sought collector's items. Carfax Abbey has established a strong fan base with numerous live appearances as well as tracks on a number of compilations, one of which officially charted with Billboard. "It Screams Disease" consists of entirely new songs as well as an updated version of the band's cover of "Cry Little Sister," the iconic track from the classic horror film "The Lost Boys."
