Bio
Carinda Christie has been playing professionally for over 15 years, she has played support for some of Australia's biggest names and overseas artist, like Johnny Johnson, collective Soul to Grace Knight, Wendy Matthews, Christina Anu, Billy Thorpe.
Influences range from Joan Arjmatrading to Elvis Presley.
I picked up Slide Guitar a few years ago and have put that into my act with a raw rockin slide sound as well as when solo playing stomp box and singing. When i play trio i use Ben Hakalitz drummer for Yutha Yinda for 12 years and Bass players either Giles Smith ex Dragon, John Williamson or William Kepa amazing young up and coming talent.
Sixth album to be recorded Feb 2010 and to be released Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns, Qld.
This year 2009 has seen Carinda playing The opening and finish of the Q150 shed celebrations as well as the Spiegeltent at the Brisbane Festival, Wallaby Creek Festival, Yungaburra Folk Festival as well as Cairns Carnival.
If you want someone with lots of energy, great songs and a voice that will put a chill up your spine Carinda Christie is the one.
