Carlos Slimm

In a city universally recognized as the new Mecca for Hip Hop excellence, Atlanta, Georgia is home to many of rap’s biggest names.  However, if rising MC extraordinaire Carlos Slimm continues about his ground breaking lyrical assaults, he may soon become the toast of the A-Town.  I know strong words or maybe even to high of praise…well think again, not since the iconic Outkast has a rap artist been held in such high regard by both music critics and fans alike on the level that Carlos Slimm is.

Born Michael Chunn A.K.A.Carlos Slimm in Atlanta, Georgia, his childhood could have easily been mistaken for a blockbuster horror film.  You name it and chances are a young Carlos Slimm has either experienced or sadly tried from drug dealing, gang banging, daily acts of violence, home invasions, stabbings, prostitution, car-jackings to murder.

While a lover of good music since a small lad, his first love was football for which he would later star at South Atlanta High School. Unfortunately, growing up on Hotlanta’s notorious Southside made sports and music take a backseat to his primary mission of making as much money legal or illegal as he could.

In a turn of events of epic proportions, the former grade “A” D-Boy whose priorities had been severed compromised for the majority of his young life is now being touted as the Peach State capitol’s next “can’t miss” international superstar.  To write timeless classic that often challenges the mind while soothing the soul without having to write any lyrics down on paper speaks to the unearthly level of talent possessed by a truly once-in-a-generation caliber artist.

Showmanship personified Carlos Slimm has performed in a jaw-dropping 500 shows and counting while working with a plethora of rap to include but not limited to: Young Thug, Cashout, Big Kuntry King, Gorilla Joe, Young Ralph, and Playa Circle.  A true student of Hip Hop is most evident in his top music influences that come courtesy of rap legends Outkast, T.I., Jay Z, Bun B, and the late great Tupac Shakur to whom he still listens daily.

The former lead MC of the immensely popular rap group C.R.E. (Cash-Rules-Everything) whose debut mix CD aptly entitled “Large in the Game” featured the breakout hit single “Stunt on You” that was hosted by the South’s premier DJ Scream is what majorly helped to solidify Carlos Slimm who used to go by the rap name of Money as Atlanta’s most talked about underground MC.
