Sights and sounds of a live, full band characterized by seasoned members in full caricature costumes are reminiscent of a “P’Funk” era, yet with an enlightened twist. Combining genres of music ranging from old school, R&B, neo-soul, rock, jazz and hip-hop, capped with a drummer lead vocalist—up front—adds a refreshing authenticity to Carlos and The EWP Family Band.

Carlos “Los” McSwain is the old-spirited, 21-year-old mastermind literally “leading the way” for this group. With a remarkable combination of talent, experience, vision and grounding, Carlos has made an indelible impact on the entertainment industry for over 11 years. This drummer-singer-composer-actor performed with vastly different and legendary artists, touring the country with the likes of Aaliyah, Monica, Lenny Williams, Hootie and the Blow Fish, Cowboy Mouth, Charlie Wilson, Shirley Murdock, Keith Washington, Donnell Jones, Dave Hollister, Chico DeBarge, Kelly Price, Michael Tolcher, The Pat McGhee Band, John Pee Kee, Daryl Coley and with Tyler Perry’s Plays!

Playing the drums since the age of 5, Carlos learned the keyboards, guitar and bass shortly thereafter. For him, music was a way of life. Two nationally acclaimed family members were big influences on his career. His mother, a polished stage actress, singer and drummer, oftentimes took the young adolescent along while on tour. Older brother, William “Big Worm” Blount—a nationally renown producer, director and musician for artists including Goodie Mob, Changing Faces, Teddy Riley, Destiny’s Child, Blackstreet, George Howard, David Hollister, Aaron Hall, Aailyah and Monica—plays an active performance and management role even today as Carlos’ talent catches the ear of the industry’s biggest record labels.

Backed by the 6-piece EWP Family Band, Carlos will surely overtake the entertainment industry and leave his imprint of passion in the eyes, ears and hearts of those blessed to experience his musical offerngs!
