Bio

Brown, Carlos AKA Bodega

Born to the streets of Miami, Liberty City, Carlos Brown AKA BODEGA; has been writing rhymes for over 8 years now. Grinding, hustling, and pushing through the system to get those rhymes produced. Life wasn’t easy but who said that pursuing your dreams would be. Rapping is a gift that I have been blessed with and knowing how hard I’ve worked, lets me know how much harder I must push myself.

Living that hard-knock life made shit hard, but staying focused on the prize helped to push perseverance through my veins. Born to immigrants from Haiti, I learned early on that the struggle is real. Watching the school system do me in, listening to the cries of my teachers of how I wasn’t going to become anything; it felt like the streets was trying to find my breaking point. Rapping kept me living; the dream of successfulness kept me humble. Never giving in to that bullshit, telling niggas to fuck the streets and stay on that knowledgeable dough making path wasn’t easy, god stressed to me to stay focused on myself. I heard him and answered the call. Understanding the business was me understanding myself, the streets, the games played, the people who gave their life for the craft of rapping.

While growing into my craft, Miami blessed me by being able to work with Heat Camp, Dues Pounn, Young Toe/Dirt City, Southern Boy for ICONZ Music Group, Bossman, Karl Cousin for Studio 204, Soldier T, Young Hella and many more street smart soldiers in the underground Miami music industry. Moving to Boston provided me with the opportunity to work with producers such as Soul On Ice and Richie Kimble. I have blessed the mic and performed at record release parities for: Letia LaRok, Lucky Dice, Fry Daddy, Jayman, M-Diesel, Alive of the Lead Boyz, Kev Kong of AndWhat Records, Pablo Star (Haitian Artist) and many other talented and respected artist.

For my block, I’m staying focused; dropping CD’s and performing. For the producers, I know what I want, I know what I want to sound like-keep it real for me; there is no other BODEGA. For the hood, keep that shit locked; make em’ respect who we are and what we do, never settle for less. For the fake niggas who stay trying me; remember this: BODEGA don’t owe you shit
