"Carlos Bryant Drops Expectations Mixtape"

Newcomer to TMR, Carlos Bryant put forth an incredible mixtape titled Expectations. Being the second tape from the California rapper, Carlos is no stranger to the game. Each track is high-caliber and professional with both top-notch production and rhymes. Carlos shows many sides to himself on the project, portraying a young and hungry self on tracks such as Lost Outside Society II, and a more laid back side on tracks such as I Do Love You. On top of that, Carlos shows a connection to society, and a want for change that few artists share with him. He is able to articulate this in a way that established a firm message to his listeners. If you don’t want to check out the whole project I would make sure you cop Underrated, PortCity Hero, and Scottie Pippen. - The Music Reform

Bio

Hip hop is a term that can not be defined. It is more than just a grouping of words. Hip Hop is the way we talk, the way we act, our fashion, our lifestyle, and our people. It's the culture and the language of the streets. Carlos Bryant speaks that language and thrives in this culture every day of his life. As a 17 year old, he has the life experience of a man twice his age, the lyrical ability to paint immaculate mental images, and the spirit to use that talent to try and uplift society and bring back true hip hop. Most people his age are focused on proms, football games, and trying to figure out what they want out of life, but Carlos has already figured out his life's plan: Revive Hip Hop! This may seem like a lofty goal, especially for someone so young, but with great power, comes great responsibility.

As with most stories of triumph, this one is marred by tragedy. At the tender age of 12, Carlos' father was brutally slain in Sacramento, Ca. This tragedy shook Carlos to the core and left him to look after his 4 younger siblings while he was just a child himself. With no other outlet to release all the pain and stress, he began to write about everything that was bothering him. The words covered page after page and before he knew it, these angry groups of words on paper turned into songs. Through these songs, he found refuge in being able reveal his true soul over a beat. He then began to look at the music being made and realized that real Hip Hop, like Common's "I Used to Love Her", Tupac's "Keep Your Head Up", and Biggie's "Juicy", is no longer being made. The time of real storytellers has come and gone and been replaced by one hit wonders whose only goal is to make people dance, not provide them with true quality. Carlos Bryant, like a hip Hop Superhero, was born to put a stop to that... With the aid of upcoming producer BigJogiCain, Theres nothing that can stop this young artist... #BrokenSociety #Expectations
