Smooth Jazz saxophonist is not just the word to describe this artist. CARLOS CANNON, a Chicago's base saxophone has been making headline for himself throughout the city and US.

Carlos Cannon is a Smooth Urban Jazz Saxophonist/vocalist and a Chicago native who released his third CD album, "Steppin Up The Game."  If you love to dance, his smooth urban jazz album will take you there.  It consists Chicagos acclaimed, Steppers Music, dance grooves and soulful vocal tracks, coupled with Mr. Cannons melodic sax playing.  He has set a standard in the forefront of R&B and smooth urban jazz.  

Carlos Cannon has been called on to perform with, The Temptations and open shows for well-known artists as the George Duke & Stanley Clark at the Country Club Hills Theater in Dolton, IL. He also, played with Queen Latiffa as she made a surprise appearance at The BackRoom Jazz Club in Chicago IL, Mesa from (Incognito Band) and Paul Taylor at Governor State University.  He also opened for Michael Bolton, Angel Bofill, gospel singer Fred Hammond, Pieces of a Dream, and Marion Meadows.

At the age of 12, Mr. Cannon started playing the bass guitar in neighborhood bands and in high school. Inspired by the late Grover Washington Jr., Carlos Cannon eagerly picked up the alto saxophone and became the first chair player in the Paul Robeson High School jazz band in Chicago.

Carlos Cannon went on to major in music performance at Illinois State University where he formed his own jazz band and took first place in the state jazz band competition. His third year in college, he transferred to Roosevelt University and continued his musical studies.

Carlos' musical influences include Grover Washington, Jr., Gerald Albright, David Sanborn, and Kenny G. Carlos credits these great icons who have inspired his musical development and made him the great saxophonist, producer and songwriter he is today.

Carlos Cannon has three CDs as a smooth jazz artist, his debut CD, In the Name of Love, or Chicagos Finest, his second CD, TakN It Smooth, and his current CD, Steppin Up The Game. From his first CD to his third album show the growth of his contemporary smooth jazz stylistic playing ability to his excellent song writing skills. Carlos Cannon has found his place among the forefront of R&B and the top smooth urban jazz artists.
