Carly and Sadie may not be familiar to Kamloops audiences yet, but they will be after this Sunday's Blazers game.

The sister duo, who grew up here and are currently trying to break into the music industry in Vancouver, will perform the anthem before an estimated 4,000 Blazers fans.

"We've been playing together since we were little kids," says Carly Campbell, 24.

They currently have a single, Comfortable, that has been getting some play on B-100 over the past week.

Carly was only seven years old when she began playing with her younger sister, now 21, at church musical functions.

"I've been singing since I was two," she adds.

The pair has performed publicly in their hometown in the past, most recently at Rota's and Hot Nite in the City in August.

They attended Kamloops Christian School, from which Carly graduated in 1999. Since then she has plied the Lower Mainland restaurant trade as a waitress while performing music there.

"We have a permanent gig going every Sunday night at Doolan's Irish Pub at the corner of Granville and Nelson," she says.

Their music bears an eclectic, contemporary sound.

"We're kind of like Tegan and Sara," she says. "It's kind of like rock 'n' roll sort-of soul, fairly jazzy and kind of weird at times."

The Tegan and Sara sister-style duo may soon make way for more musicians, though.

"We're looking to form a full band."

As for Sunday night, the set list is limited to O Canada since players and fans will be anxious to get the game underway.

"It would be great if we could do a little ditty or two," Carly jokes.

Bio

well i guess growing up on a farm with nothing else but your guitar has it's bonus'.
We are Carly and Sadie, 2 sisters from kamloops B.C.. we started singing in church, went on to writing our own songs and performing around town . We decided to move to Vancouver, where we started playing open mics around town. Now we are working on a CD, and booking shows... trying to make it in the big bad city. i would say our music is like everything from sheryl crow to janis joplin to jack johnson... It has a fun jazzy acoustic rock feel to it..
music is what we've always wanted to do, its always been a part of our lives. I would say what makes us different is exactly that. We put our hearts into our music, plus, being sisters we have a connection to make very unique harmonies.
