NASHVILLE IFCO (the International Fan Club Organization) announced
today that the 40th Annual IFCO FunFest Show will air on XM Satellite
aRadio. Loudilla Johnson, co-president of IFCO said, "This is the first time the show will have been broadcast, and for it to be broadcast by XM Radio across the world on the show's 40th anniversary is very
special indeed."

everywhere!"
The show will be broadcast live Monday, June 4th at 7:30 p.m. from
the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. XM will also re-air the show several times throughout June and early July. Additional air dates will be posted at ifco.org and xmradio.com.
XM reaches over 8 million subscribers each week, plus millions more
who listen via America Online, DirecTV, United Airlines, JetBlue
Airways, AirTran Airlines, and XM's many rental car partners.
Headlining the show is Joe Diffie. Also performing are Trick Pony, Aaron Tippin, Chris Young, Ty Herndon, Billy Yates, Lady Antebellum, Carly Goodwin, John Stone, Todd Fritsch, Gary Mule Deer, and Two Foot
Fred. IFCO's band leader is Joe Bob Barnhill, and Robert K. Oermann
will be the night's host.
The 2007 IFCO FunFest Show benefits Nashville's Monroe Carell Jr.
Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

give children a place to hope and heal. The focus is on research,
education and advocacy, which allows the hospital to provide
comprehensive, state-of-the-art care delivered in a nurturing,
family-centered environment.

Speaking of Carly Goodwin, congratulations are in order: she and Nashville songwriter Josh Kear were married in the Dominican Republic Nov. 11. The couple exchanged vows in the company of close friends and family in a ceremony that embraced traditions from around the globe, while celebrating the diversity and continuity of love and life. Carly and Josh met in 2003 at Nashville’s famous Bluebird Café. He’s a hit songwriter with cuts by Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Lynyrd Skynrd, Jimmy Buffett and Hank Williams Jr. – and his latest smash is Carrie Underwood’s No.1 “Before He Cheats”. Carly recently earned Single of the Year at the 2006 Los Angeles Music Awards for her rendition of the classic “Crazy” sung as a duet with the song’s writer, Willie Nelson. Carly Goodwin may not big a big star yet- but to U.S. Troops overseas the country music newcomer is already one in a million. Earlier this year, Carly delivered the “World's Longest Letter of Support to Our Troops” to soldiers at 18 military bases in seven countries.
And just how long is this letter? Try 15 miles! The historic document, officially the “Baby Come Back Home Soldier Scrolls,” contains signatures of U.S. Congressmen, senators, celebrities, from the entertainment world and people from all across the country.
This was Carly's brainchild all the way. The 24-year-old singer from Nashville co-wrote a song called “Baby Come Back Home” which honors the sacrifices of a soldier's spouse. “Baby Come Back Home” has since become an anthem embraced by military families around the world.
The scrolls were first launched in June of 2005. Gretchen Wilson, Brooks & Dunn, Tanya Tucker and the Oak Ridge Boys are among the country stars who have since signed the long letter of support. - Country Weekly
(National-NBC) April 13, 2006 - Lots of attention has been paid to the brave men and women fighting overseas, but many people forget the heroes who are waiting for them back on the homefront.
One woman has written a song that gives the silent struggle of a military wife a voice. She even took the song to the troops, along with some heartfelt wishes from home.
Carly Goodwin has become the singing voice of America's military spouses. Supportive, worried, and hopeful, singing words that so many feel, "Lord knows I'm proud of you, miss you more each day. Baby come back home."
It's a message she delivers in song, and in person on the ground in Iraq, touring 17 Middle-Eastern American bases.
Goodwin says, "When you ask the guys and gals overseas, who has the harder job they'll say hands down it's the person at home. Don't know what's going on and they're in constant worry mode."
The visit wasn't just songs on stage; it was messages from home.
Carly collected signatures, thousands, and created the "world's longest letter of support to the troops."
It's 15 miles long and hand delivered to soldiers in the desert and troops at sea. It's a way to bring a bit of home to the troops, according to Goodwin, "They just want a glimpse of home, just feel like home for a few hours. And the scrolls were a way to connect them to home. Americans have touched this, kissed this, Americans have poured their hearts out."
The letter and song proves one 24-year-old on a mission can make a difference.

Carly Goodwin's debut album showcases a serious talent with enough vocal chops to entice a duet with Willie Nelson on the latter's classic "Crazy." Carl Jackson's production brings insistant percussive and acoustic elements to such spirtely cuts as "Just Another Mountain" and the hopeful "New Night Dawning." At 23, Goodwin's voice owns impressive range and personality on uptempo cuts like "Destination Heartache" and endearing tone and tremolo on such midtempos as the easy-rollin' "High on a Mountian. Elsewhere, "Until Then" and "Still Too Blue" are stone-country ballads in a Patty Loveless style. Likewise, the piano based "Homecoming Day" is gorgeous torch song, and "Baby Come Back Home" is a passionately rendered, if somewhat cliched, tearjerker ballad about a solider's wife that count have huge appeal these holidays. - Billboard

Carly Goodwin was born in upstate New York on July 28. 1981 with country music infused into her soul. She played music, sang and performed throughout her formative years which were spent living in California, Utah and Colorado. Carly graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 and moved to Nashville pursue her lifelong dream of being a recording artist.
Upon arriving in Nashville, Carly's talent and humor (Carly loves telling bad jokes) won over industry veteran and Grammy Award winning producer, Carl Jackson. With this knock out team, Carl produced Carly's debut album, which was released in 2004. This album, which was full of meaningful songs of life, 1/3 of which were written by Carly, was critically acclaimed by Billboard Magazine ("Critic's Choice"), Music Row Magazine and many others put Carly on the map as an artist who is here to stay. The album includes a duet with Willie Nelson of his classic song "Crazy". Their duet, which Willie himself explained as being "right up there with Patsy's" won the LA Music Award in 2006 for Country Single of the Year, and was #1 in Europe.
Carly has been interviewed on Fox and Friends, by the New York Times, Country Weekly, Music Row, etc. She has been covered by CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, AP Wire and more.
Carly has toured over 20 countries all over the world bringing her music to many military bases too. Her song, "Baby Come Back Home" captured the hearts of military all over the world. Carly created "The World's Longest Letter to Our Troops" which was over 18 miles when she delivered it to Iraq in person in January of 2006.
Carly belives in inspiring her audiences through her music, as well as connecting to them. Carly has a passion for giving back to the world as feels that as an artist, she has a responsibility to do so. She is involved with organizations such as The Peace Alliance (www.thepeacealliance.org), Boundless Playgrounds (www.boundlessplaygrounds.org) and Artists Against Hunger and Poverty.
In November of 2006, Carly and veteran songwriter Josh Kear were married. Josh has written songs for Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, and recently celebrated the hit "Before He Cheats" for Carrie Underwood.
