Twisted, elegant rage, softened by melodic pop musings and nuisances.

Biography

Carmela Antonio (born October 10th, 1984) is a Canadian singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada.

"There’s no shortage of talent with singer-songwriter Carmela Antonio. Rooted in an indie-pop/RnB sound effortlessly combined with elements of hip-hop, dub, and world influences, Antonio delivered powerfully sweet vocals-equally soulful and edgy-radiating an onstage charisma and sass to a receptive audience. Lyrics

Fame Whore

Written By: Carmela Antonio

Verse I:
She had her world left behind
Got a glass full of wine
Clad in Prabal Gurung style
Can never look her straight in the eye

The press says she’s lived it hard
Tells the world she’s “no-holds-barred”
But looking in, it’s quite a shame
Can never live up to her name

Chorus:
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
You’ve had enough don’t do it
You’ve had enough don’t do it
Baby, nothing is real
Don’t let yourself believe…

You’ve had enough, don’t do it
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
‘Cause baby, nothing is real…

Verse II:
Living well and living large
Don’t blame her for wanting way too much
No one can hold her hand
‘Cause simple folks will never understand

She needs her feed at top speed
Gotta get that kush, to get that push
She’ll bring you back something out of this world
‘Cause no one else could do what this one could

(Chorus)

Verse III:
Lost her very best friend
Told herself it’s never gonna end
Who needs an empty cage, anyway
When you got all the love you get on stage?!

I’m smarter than the world, so kiss my ass
I gotta make the good times last
I’ve paid dues, can’t you see, son?!
You gotta pave the road for me!

(Chorus)

Outro:
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
You’ve had enough, don’t do it
Baby, nothing is real
Don’t let yourself believe in it.

Once Bitten

Written By: Carmela Antonio

Verse I:
We’re going nowhere
Pretty fast
And my heart’s breaking to a
Thousand pieces

He heard me once, and
Heard me twice
And still I’m nothing but a
Vagabond in his eyes
(In his eyes…..)

Chorus:
He’s once bitten, twice shot
I never thought that
He would punish me
For that sl*t

He’s once bitten, twice shot
Never worried of losing me
But I keep beggin’ him for his hand
Keep beggin’ him for his hand

Verse II:
I heard the man fell to his knees
With every heartache
Got me carrying it
Like a priest

I ran away
You didn’t care
And sure enough another fool
Will clean up the pieces
(The pieces…)

(Chorus)
(Ad-libs)

Blindside

Written By: Carmela Antonio

I got a pocketful of dreams
It ain’t getting me no where
Got a pocketful of tears
Ain’t getting me any changes

Making moves just so
I can feel some sort of direction
Fighting currents
Not willing to see my progression

Holding on to something
Just to feel like I can belong
And strangely, I still feel
I’ll get to where I dreamed for so long

Chorus:
But now…
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I lost control
I lost control
I don’t know where I’m going

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I lost control
I lost control
I don’t know where I’m going

Verse II:
Blindside has become
My very best friend
Losing my shit on these roads
That seem to never end

I’m trying to keep my cool
But baby, I don’t know what to do
If even walking makes me cautious
Not to act the fool

(Chorus)

(Interlude)

Bridge:
Here I go again, just trying to feel alive
Here I go again, losing my sound mind
Here I go again, thinking there’s more tomorrows
Here I go again, wishing for higher hopes

Here I go again, pushing for what I don’t know
Here I go again, fighting a brick wall
Here I go again, running around in circles
Here I go again, fighting a useless battle

(Chorus)

Blindside has become
My very best friend
Losing my shit on these roads
That seem to never end

Against the Wall

Written By: Carmela Antonio

Been carryin’ the weight of the world
On my shoulders
And every time I try to move it
It just won’t budge

And there’s a little piece of me
That can’t let go
There’s a little piece of me
That knows it so,
And every time you come around me
I don’t know…
But one this is for sure…

Chorus:
Baby, won’t you help me settle down
Baby, get me back on solid ground
Baby, I can’t walk with my head down
So I’m standing here
Right up against the wall

Baby, can’t you tell this ain’t my style
Baby, can’t you see it’s been a while
I gotta let it go, but tell me why,
I’m still standing here right up against the wall

Oh, ohh-ohh, oh, oh, ohh..
Oh, ohh-ohh, oh, oh, ohh..
Oh, ohh-ohh, oh, oh, ohh..
I’m standing here right up against the wall…

So now baby, I’m right back
Where I started
It could be just as good,
But I worry too much

And I don’t want it to end
‘Cause I know it’s real
I don’t want it to end,
It’s just how I feel
And I don’t care what you say,
Maybe, that’s just me
So don’t you rain on my parade!

(Chorus)

Bridge:
I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no real affection
I can’t move without direction

I’m standing here right up against the wall

I want your hand in mine
So go ahead and take your time
But I’ve learned what’s on your mind,
So I’m standing here right up against the wall.

(Chorus)

Monochrome

Monochrome
C. Antonio/M. Brown

Verse I:
A little more of what I needed
A little more than what I see
A little more, just a little bit more?
Oh, is that a crime?

pre:
I was going a hundred miles
But haven't moved an inch

Chorus:
Break me in to pieces
Break me down to rebuild
If life in monochrome tastes better,
I don't feel so alive

A little more than what I got
A little more than what's left
A little something in return
For what I paid for,
And things ain't comin' back

pre:
I was going a hundred miles
On a road to nowhere

Chorus:
Break me in to pieces
Break me down to rebuild
If life in monochrome tastes better,
I don't feel so alive

Break me in to pieces
Break me down to rebuild
If life in monochrome tastes better,
I don't feel so alive

(interlude)

Chorus:
Break me in to pieces
Break me down to rebuild
If life in monochrome tastes better,
I don't feel so alive

Break me in to pieces
Break me down to rebuild
If life in monochrome tastes better,
I don't feel so alive
