Bio
Carmen Costa formed in 2005 when Ralph Casta and Manu Charritton met in Mexico City. In 2007, Pascuale Destefano (formerly of Bonsai) and Marco Chavez (formerly of Replica) joined the band, making it a truly international group (Italy, Us, Argentina and Mexico) and helping to inspire the band's name: a woman, a coast and many countries. Carmen Coast is their alter ego.
In the following years Carmen Costa has shared the stage with international bands including Stellastarr*, Bersuit Vergarabat, Los Concorde, Bengala, and No Somos Machos among others. Influenced by bands like Deerhunter, Eels, Fleet Foxes, Wolfmother, Arcade Fire and classics like Beatles, Zeppellin, Bowie and Neil Young, their sound mixes Argentinian rock, English beats and some big dirty guitars. But it's the alternating grooves leading the listener from rock to folk to country to psychedelic that make their sound special.
