You’re a diamond in the rough, girl...well on your way to national recognition!" Pete Escovedo

Something about MILAGRO - Original & Traditional Latin Sounds from the Americas- cool Latin Jazz combines "Miles Davis sounds" in the form of Rich Armstrong on Trumpet and meets Tito Puente with a dash of Pete Escovedo. Then imagine the new Shakira meets Gloria Estefan's romantic period with a dash of Alannis Morrisette! Carmen Milagro and her band MILAGRO have begun to get noticed in the Bay Area music scene with television appearances on the Comcast SF Sound cable show the Bruce Lattimer Show on Pacifica’s local access Channel 8 as well as Bay Area Vista on KRONTV and an upcoming appearance on Univisions Channel 14 Encuentro en la Bahia.

Born in the San Francisco Mission District little did she know in the year 2000 what miracles would occur when she took the name of her favorite cousin as her own. Carmen Milagro the fearless leader of MILAGRO the Hottest Latin Sounds in the Bay Area has been quite diligent in creating performances that are extremely pleasing to the musical palate with songs in both Spanish and English sexy originals and traditional covers that focus on melody and harmony that stir emotions and inspire you to dance or sing.

Her sensuous vocals have attracted some incredibly talented high-caliber musicians such as the multi-instrumentalist Rich Armstrong on trumpet percussion vocals and sometimes DJ (Boz Scaggs, Hot House Flowers and Ledisi) as well as the dynamic and energetic Atma Anur of (Journey, David Bowie and Third Eye Blind). I believe this miracle called MILAGRO comes from not only having a band of exceptionally talented musicians with a similar vision but perhaps more importantly working with and trusting in these beautiful handsome human beings. I am fortunate to call them my friends and family. We just take care of each other. All you need to know as an audience about MILAGRO is that they are quite simply THE BEST IN THE WORLD! says the singer.

This San Francisco-native Latina singer and lyricist is coming into her own as a bandleader. She’s created a show that is both familiar to those in the Spanish-speaking communities as well as any lover of the traditional romantic Latin sounds and those who are interested in listening to the various other flavors of Latin music. The MILAGRO performances are not those of your typical Salsa or Latin rock bands. Instead Ms. Milagro has invoked a musical style that is sophisticated and warm yet at times edgy and sensual. There is simply no other Latin band that can claim this unique distinction!

Carmen Milagro is available to perform as a duet with a piano or keyboard accompaniment. She can also appear as part of a trio quartet or quintet of virtually any instrumentation that is requested but the band MILAGRO typically consists of:
trumpet, coronet and flugelhorn, keys, bass, drums, percussion and vocals but can grow to a full-sized 12 to 16-piece Latin Orquesta and is available for private parties and corporate events.

Carmen Milagro & MILAGRO have played for weddings (a combination of a classic wedding ceremony performance a jazz ensemble during dinner followed by dance music for the reception) corporate parties birthday parties festivals fundraisers & benefits and television. Most recently they have been asked to headline at Cache Creek Casino Resort’s Club 888 and the prestigious TOP of the MARK Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco

MILAGRO has also donated their talent time and performances to many important local causes including the non-profit Peanut Butter and JaMMusic Sessions for Kids the Mayor Gavin Newsom MONS Concert Series at SF City Hall the Alisha Ann Ruch Burn Foundation AMP3 (Association of Music Professionals) Latinas Contra Cancer Breast Cancer Run and Steve Sodokoffs Gimme Shelter Clothing Drive for the Homeless.

By simply using your imagination you can create a special custom musical event utilizing the multi-faceted talents of the MILAGRO band. A useful configuration of MILAGRO is to have them play jazz for background music then go to the Latin/Pop show and have DJ Rich Armstrong finish out the evening. A full sound system is included in the cost of the band. The live music/ DJ combo is one of the most effective ways to win over any crowd and no one does it better than this group! Be one of the first to have MILAGRO to create a performance solution that will make your event the talk of the town!!
You can see the headlines now, can't you?
