"Actress Carmen Perez Pens Deal with Dauman Music/Universal Music Group"

Actress Carmen Perez (“Nip/Tuck,” ”Everybody Hates Chris” and feature film “Illegal
Tender”) has recently added singer/song-writer to her evolving palette. Carmen has just inked a deal to write and perform on a single with Dauman Music, distributed by Universal Music Group. Jay & Sweet (writers of Jennifer Lopez’s hit “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”) have signed on to co-write the song with Carmen. In addition, producer and songwriter Ellis Miah (who has written, produced and remixed such artists as
Hannah Montana, Seal, Back Street Boys and Jennifer Lopez) and Billboard Charter singer/ song-writer & celebrity vocal coach Kyle Puccia will be a part of the talented team. The Dauman Music label has become a prominent force on the Billboard Charts. They have repeatedly delivered Billboard chart hits. Carmen just wrapped feature film "Not Forgotten" with actors Simon Baker and Paz Vega.

Carmen Perez was in the U.S. Army active duty, joining at the age of 17, and this Veteran has become an established actress, acting in over 25 films and TV series. She has made great strides with her acting career since earning a Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal in Soldiers Don’t Cry (by the Valley Theatre League Artistic Director Achievement (ADA) Awards), which was also nominated for a NAACP Award. Carmen just wrapped feature film Not Forgotten with actors Simon Baker & Paz Vega. She was recently seen in Illegal Tender, produced by John Singleton, co-starring on Everybody Hates Chris and will be also guest-starring on The Shield in the upcoming last season. In 2008, she will be seen in feature films The Platform, He’s Just Not That Into You (Drew Barrymore) and Irene In Time.

Carmen Perez says that by finally really starting to follow her intuition and artistic senses, she’s finally feeling like a true artist. Deep down Carmen always wanted to sing, so one day she decided she’s going to record some songs she had written. Only months after recording those 3 songs, Carmen inked a deal to write and perform on a single with Dauman Music/Universal Music Group.
