Bio

Carnyce (Pronounced CAR-niss) is an emerging modern rock band from Shippensburg Pennsylvania. The band found their beginnings in 1999 with a four piece combo called Soma, after nearly a year together, “Soma” lost their lead guitarist, changed their name, and found a new sound and a new energy as a three piece consisting of Jamison Rotz on lead guitar and vocals, Chris Huebner on bass, and Tyler Eppley on drums and backup vocals. The three artists brought together varying backgrounds and influences (including bands such as Weezer, The Ramones, The Smashing Pumpkins, and even ACDC) to create a sound with driving guitar riffs, melodic vocals and catchy melodies.

In November of 2001, the band recorded their first demo, an eight track album called “Black Circle.” This was the first step towards getting Carnyce on their feet. After completing the new studio project, the band has been pushing farther and farther from their home in Shippensburg, looking to find new fan in new areas to support their original titles. Carnyce’s engaging and fast-paced live performances have won them lots of fans at their venues in Harrisburg, State College, York, Manheim, Gettysburg, and of course their home town of Shippensburg.

Carnyce is currently working to expand their horizons in to the Greater area of Pennsylvania as well as the surrounding states, as the next step to promote their original music. Another studio project is also in the works and is due out this September. The new project brings a fresh new sound, and several new twists that have proven to be crowd pleasers at the live shows. Stay tuned and look to the website for all of the latest studio material to be completed. There’s lots more on the way.
