Bio

I was born into a musical family, as my mother is a professional music teacher and oboeist. She started me on the piano at 8 years of age. I learned to play the violin at age 9, and the flute at 11, in public school. I auditioned and earned a seat in the Fort Worth Junior All-City Orchestra on violin during middle school. In high school, I was in the marching band & orchestra, on the flute and piccolo. At college, I was in the marching, concert & jazz bands AND orchestra, on the transverse flute and piccolo and briefly, the oboe. I have been composing and performing my original music since 1999. I now also play acoustic, electric and classical guitar, Irish pennywhistles, piano accordion, keyboards, cedar & bamboo flutes, lap harp, mandolin, banjo, orchestra bells, zither, the French bombard oboe and am learning the clarinet and C Melody saxophone!
I am currently wrapping up my fifth cd titled "Pastiche" (a synonym for 'potpourri'), which is comprised of what I consider 'orchestral techno', except for two symphonic pieces.
My eighth cd, "PLEASANTRIES" is also almost finished, so stay tuned!
My seventh cd, "REVELATIONS" will be released very soon (2011) also, and is to include 12 songs reflecting my life story through music.
My sixth cd, "PASTICHE" is almost finished and will include 10 songs of jazz and 'orchestral techno' sounds.
My fifth cd, "LONG WAY TO GO", was also finished in 2011, and has 12 songs of it, with a variety of genre. My fourth cd, "CANYON SOUNDS", includes 7 spiritual (and haunting) songs inspired by a visit to the Grand Canyon, U.S.A., and was finished in 2011.
My third cd, "ODE TO IRELAND", was completed at the end of 2010, and consists of 10 original instrumental pieces as a tribute to the people and culture of Ireland.
My second cd, "CROSSING MEADOWS", was finished at the end of 2009, and includes 24 songs of a variety ranging from folk to Native American to blues to Irish; like a very long demo cd!
My first solo cd, "SENTIMENTS", has 7 songs and was released in 2007.
During 2009 I participated on the flute and tin whistles in Irish music "sessions", tapping into that part of my heritage. I have recently created my own music label and am ready to help others record their originals!
