"Carolina Black – “The Stars Are Out Tonight”"

I’m a little late on posting this (apologies), but better late than never, right? Once again from the AR Classic crew, we have another fiery single – this time from Carolina Black. “The Stars Are Out Tonight” is the first single from Carolina Black’s upcoming full-length album, which we can expect in early 2011. This song was also featured on ESPN during the Miami Heat’s home opener back in October. Not bad, eh? Carolina gets some help from Dominik Omega and Viceversah on the raps, along with an some slick vocals from KiKi on the hook. Sure this track might be a bit over-polished, but the raps are crisp and lethal and make this one a definite winner. - PotholesInMyBlog.com

Bio

Born 1980 Goldsboro, North Carolina, Carolina Black has always had a love for music. Inspired by his father's passion for singing, but driven to find his own voice, Carolina Black started rapping at age 12. For the first few years, rhyming was a hobby for Carolina Balck, until he was incarcerated in 1996.

It was in prison that Carolina Black began to use rhyming as a tool for expression. In 1997, after he was released from prison, he began working with DJ Stress. He dropped a couple of mixtapes before becoming incarcerated again in 1998. It was during his second sentence that Carolina Black saw imprisonment as a time to seriously develop his writing skills, and to work the prison battle-circuit to hone his vocal delivery.

In 2000, Carolina Black arrived back on the scene as a true MC. He began working with some childhood friends, and formed a group called Downside. They produced a street-level album entitled Young Niggas for Blind Fate in 2001, but after a Fed bust that summer, he decided to leave his Southern roots for new opportunities in Western MA.

By 2002, he had teamed up with Wolfpack, and was working the mixtape circuit throughout MA. It was through this that he created a rising buzz around the area, leading him to team up with Knoble Gasses, Jake Case, and the DLS Family in 2003. In late 2003, Carolina Black began working with producer, The Arcitype. Putting out mixtapes every summer, Carolina Black worked toward his first promotional LP with The Arcitype, which he released in spring of 2006. Truth, Trust and Triumph: A Soldier's Story sold over 1000 copies, expanding Carolina Black’s fan base. In October of 2010, after spending time performing and working in the studio, Carolina Black released his new single "The Stars Are Out Tonight" ft. KiKi, Dominik Omega and Viceversah. This was the first single released off his upcoming album, Songs in The Key Of Black. coming 2011, and was featured on ESPN's national coverage of LeBron James' Miami Heat Home Game debut, which was the highest viewed NBA home game opener in ESPN's history. The single is continuing to be used by ESPN for their promotion for their national coverage of NCAA Basketball this season.
