Bio
Carolina Faye
Age: 27
Native Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.
Childhood Music Memories:
Church choir and vocals; school talent shows; school drama
and chorus programs.
Childhood Hip Hop Memory:
When her aunt would drive around in her white car with her speakers thumping loud hip hop music. Carolina’s uncles and her dad thought her aunt was crazy; ‘Why listen to music that loud?’
Carolina Faye understood why all along.
Early Sign of Promise:
Carolina’s dad said that atage 2, she could recite and sing “Swing Low.” Number one goal in music:To bring awareness to what hip hop is all about. “Hip hop has a bad rap,” says Carolina. “But there is an overall point to this style of music. Hip hop is very
much a personal thing. You can always find somebody in those verses.”
Money Mitch
Age: 27
Native Hometown: Aiken, S.C.
Early Sign of Promise: At age 14, Mitch recorded with Akon, who went on to become an acclaimed platinum selling artist. Akon (six-time Grammy-Award nominee) has worked with performers such as Michael Jackson, T-Pain, Lady Gaga, R. Kelly, Quincy Jones, Eminem & Whitney Houston. He is the first solo artist to hold both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice.
In the late 90’s, Akon wrote two songs (“Heart of Gold and “Are You For Real?”) for Skilz, an R&B Group that Mitch sang in.
Number one goal in life:
To be a good man, husband and dad. He loves music and he wants to find a way to pursue his dream and be with his family.
