CAROLINE G GIBSON, Soprano, is a Christian Music Presenters (CMP) Endorsed Artist, an active performer and has earned the Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) Degree from the University of Iowa School of Music in Iowa City; the Master of Muisc (M.M.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degrees from The Catholic University of America Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Washington, D.C. and the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland respectively.
Among the many honors and awards Ms. Gibson has received, her scholarly accomplishments include High School Valedictorian in Seat Pleasant, Maryland; Individual Artist Fellowship from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts; Music Scholarship from the Benjamin T. Rome Graduate School of Music, Catholic University of America; and a Doctoral Fellowship from the Graduate College of the University of Iowa. Performance highlights include debut solo recital at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Terrace Theater, Washington, D.C. soprano soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater with former Metropolitan Opera Tenor George Shirley; solo recitalist for the National Association of Negro Musicians Annual Convention convened in Chicago, Illinois; guest soloist with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser, conductor; to name a few.
The Soprano has been spotlighted twice in two hour-long concerts featured on Pubulic Broadcasting Services (PBS) Television; and has performed as a solo aritist on Italian TV, Canale 3, Toscana, Siena, Italy. Ms. Gibson has done two solo concert tours of Mexico performing at the Teatro Daniel Ayala Perez and the Salon de la Historia de Palacio de Gobierno in Merida. The Soprano has also been featured in recitial "Spirituals in Concert" in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and has had the pleasure of appearing as Clara in Gershwin's Porgy and Bess on tour throughout U.S. and Hong Kong.
To date, the Soprano's most memorable performances have been in two Verdi masterpieces, Abigaille in Verdi's Nabucco with Constanta Opera in Constanta, Romania and the Soprano Soloist in Verdi's Requiem.
